EVENT UPDATE - 24th September
It is with sadness that I have to update you all that we have taken the difficult decsion to postpone the Jim Gibney memorial race for 2020. With plans for it to return as part of a KillaKwads funfly series in 2021.
Late last week our venue decided to close it's doors for the forseeable future due to escelating Covid concerns. Cancelling all booked events on their calendar. Including our booking. We have scrambled to replace the venue and do have a couple of viable options. We have at the same time closely monitored the recent developments in the global pandemic and, similarly to the BDRA, while we consider the event going ahead could possibly be acheved. It would not be responsible to hold an event with the currently increasing virus cases being reported and local lockdowns which are affecting pilots and venues. We thought to ourselves "What would Jim say?" and we immediately knew he would say "Don't risk it lads. Come back better next year". So we will.
We are investigating the possiblity to run some sort of online event in the Velocidrone simulator in the next couple of weeks. Which will be at much reduced capacity. Please keep an eye on our Facebook group 'KillaKwads' for details of that when we have them.
I'd like to express a personal thanks to everyoine who signed up for this event. The first time a KillaKwads race has sold out! We promise that we will honour your faith in us and we WILL return with an awesome funfly series in 2021. We hope you will join us and make these events fantastic.
I will begin processing PayPal refunds today (24/09/2020).
Stay safe everyone, keep flying, keep believing, and keep looking after each other!
